So everyone here is complaining about the price of petrol. It's gone up over a dollar since I have been here. So now instead of paying about thirty-four dollars each time I fill up, I pay about fourty-six >_< However, I then console myself by saying that in New Zealand, petrol is a lot more expensive and that it's really not that bad yet.
However I do feel for the average American. Since America generally is a massive suburban area, everyone has to commute a vast distance to work. This means that average American definitely drives a lot further than the average New Zealander. So this would mean that these price increases hurt them a lot more probably, as their consumption is much greater. The lack of decent public transport doesn't help Americans change their habits either...
